Did you know that you can opt out of credit checks in much the same way as you can opt out of advertising in your mailbox?
If someone is going to run a credit check on you, you are entitled to know about it. Therefore, you will receive a letter in the mail every time this is done. It is with these third-party providers that you can "opt out" of the credit check.
When a creditor then runs a credit check, the third-party provider will not be able to pass on your information, and they usually have no choice but to turn you down. Therefore, you will not be able to take out more loans, credit or create subscriptions if you block yourself from a credit check.
To set up a voluntary credit freeze, you must log in with BankID at credit information agencies such as Experian(https://www.minexperian.no/).
Of course, the credit freeze can be lifted at any time, but the aim is to make the threshold for applying for new credit as high as possible. It can be the difference between retaining financial control and losing it again.
