We are sorry, but unfortunately there are situations where we are unable to offer help. We know that it's tough to be in a situation with financial challenges.

In our experience, you can get good support and help by following some of these tips below.

  1. Seek support from close family/friends

We always encourage you to open up to your closest friends or family and share your situation with them. Often, discussing your challenges with someone close to you can help you gain a fresh perspective and explore possible solutions together. They will also be able to better understand and support you in the changes you need to make to change your financial life. The pressure of expectation will be much less.

  1. Debt counseling at Nav

Nav has a range of resources and information about finances and debt available on their website. Their advisors can give you good advice and guidance on how to deal with debt problems. For more information, you can check out Nav's website https://www.nav.no/okonomi-gjeld. The service is completely free.

  1. Ongoing contact with creditors

Seek reduction of debt owed, by deleting fees/interest. Extending the term of the debt. Get a payment plan both parties can agree on. Where possible, reduce the monthly amount by extending the term of the debt.

Debt settlement may be an option.
